Shipping information Please Read: We try to offer our customers several options for shipping. However; please keep in mind that Priority Mail typically will get a package to you in 2 to 3 days and only be a bit more expensive, were Partial Post can take up to a week or more. We really don't understand what goes on behind the walls at a post office but we do know that the longer the package is in the mail the more beat up it gets and the better chance it has to get lost. I would say 99.9% of the packages we have lost over the years have been partial post. We HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend you consider having your package shipped Priority Mail.

Only items that will fit in a padded envelope can be shipped First Class. Knives can not go in a padded envelope.

When ordering round balls, we recommend ordering several boxes. We will ship these priority bulk rate, and can typically send up to 5 boxes for what it costs to ship 1. Our computer is not smart enough to figure this out when it calculates your shipping, but we will catch it and refund your card.

All ramrods must be shipped Priority Mail

The carbon steel blade is stamped with the Sheffield factory seal and each knife comes with a hardwood handle. The butcher and skinner handles are 5-pinned and the scalper is 4-pinned.

Who We Are

Rocky Mountain Muzzleloading is located in Salida, Colorado along the banks of the Arkansas River.

Surrounded buy 14,000 foot peaks of the Sawatch Range and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, our area is an ideal place to participate in 18th and 19th century living history. There are many ideal areas for historic trekking nearby.

Avid living history buffs, we finally decided to start a business doing what we do best and love the most - sharing our love of history with others through education, treks, and selling equipment for historical re-enacting.

Trekking In Southern Colorado

Our area of Colorado is surrounded by public land perfect for historical re-enactment treks and hikes. We offer a shuttle service to help folks get their buggies where they need to be at the end of a trek. We also would be happy to have you join us on one of our scouting hikes.

Check the schedule for upcoming treks.

Historical Re-Enacting

One of our goals here at Rocky Mountain Muzzleloading is to help people interested in living history develop a period correct persona. We will be happy to work with you to find a gun and accouterments suitable to the time period you are interested in. If your interest is the pre-1840 western fur trade we will discourage you from buying a percussion, half stock, Hawken rifle.

We are happy to offer historically correct information on the products we carry. If we don't know the answer to a question, we will do our best to find out. All of us here at Rocky Mountain Muzzleloading have academic backgrounds and we love to do research. Of course, we also sell equipment that is not period correct.

Artists and Craftsmen

If you are an artist or craftsperson making period correct clothing, horns, bags, weapons or anything else we would love the opportunity to carry your product. Please contact us.
